- Snorkeling trips out to the Meso-American Reef, the largest coral reef eco-system in the Western Hemisphere.
- Boat trips around the lagoon to mangroves and islands full of nesting birds (pelicans, ibis, heron, egrets and roseate spoonbills are commonly sighted, as is the occasional crocodile).
- Jeep trips to the Muyil ruins, a Mayan archaeological site within the Sian Ka’an surrounded by jungle, followed by floating in life-jackets through ancient canals.
- Lagoon and sea kayaking, solo or guided, using the resort’s high-quality fleet of new kayaks.
- World-class saltwater fly fishing in the Bahia de la Ascension (Ascension Bay) and Boca Paila lagoon: bonefish, barracuda, snook, tarpon and permit.
- Deep-sea fishing for grouper and snapper.
- Scuba diving off parts of the reef where permitted.
- Swimming or scuba-diving in cenotes (underwater cave systems).
